Two Different Approaches about the Development of the Proactive Network Management

چکیده

This work describes the effort to employ remote monitoring and artificial intelligence techniques to develop the proactive network management. The first was developed in the Laboratory of Network and Management (UFSC) which uses remote monitoring. The second was developed in the National Supercomputing Center, handles the problem with artificial intelligence and SunNet Manager’s agents usage. The network management is a hard task and may be associated with another area, such as artificial intelligence and expert systems. Some management systems already are using this association to complement the management functions. In this way, we proposed the use of the artificial intelligence techniques to contribute for development of the proactive management. Furthermore, we used the remote monitoring and simulation tools to support the development of the proactive network.
